How I work

Scope is a suggestion

I know how to program, and I enjoy it, but writing code has never been the goal for me. The goal is doing whatever the project actually needs. In practice, that has meant:

• Organizing team building

  Planned and ran every team building event at Scaleway.

• Designing hiring

  Specified the recruitment process later used to hire hundreds of engineers at Scaleway.

• Running the offsite kitchen

  Organized the grocery shopping and cooking for Koyeb's team offsites.

• And much more

  I talk to clients, show up at physical events, give conferences, train people, write specs, and generally do whatever needs doing.

Some of that is engineering in its own way: designing a hiring process is really just designing a system for people. Cooking for twenty people at an offsite isn't. Either way, it needed doing, and I'd rather be useful than stay inside a job description.
